Our mission statement is carved into our Welcome Center, we are Christ's People Drawn Together in Love, Moving Out to Serve. We are glad God has brought you here.
“You are entering a conversation that began long before you were born and will continue long after you are dead.” This sign greets worshippers at an old cathedral in England. Jesus walked the earth, preached, taught, healed and passed along a message of hope, love and justice. Since his death, Christians formed communities of faith in homes, then they formed places to worship.
Christians serve the least, last and lost in Jesus’ name. We inherit a tradition of worship that incorporates singing, praying, Scripture reading and a monthly celebration of the Last Supper or Communion (usually on the first Sunday of each month). Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate fully in worship and Holy Communion, especially children. The table of Jesus is open to all people.
In the repetition of rituals and the receiving of blessed and broken bread along with the fruit of the vine, we open our hearts and minds to the mystery that is God. We open our doors to everyone God brings here - including you! In greeting one another, we open our hearts to each other. When Worship is concluded, we open our hearts to the world, moving out to serve. Welcome to the lively, ancient, beautiful conversation!
